You don't need to make a financial donation to make a difference. Here's every way you can be part of Manguzi Gijima.

On the day

Volunteer

In 2025 we had a staggering 84 volunteers from local and out of town, assisting us across all areas of the event. Some even racked up a whopping 31,000 steps in a single day — proving that volunteering is a race category of its own.

If you are interested in volunteering, be ready to give the day your ALL — and come prepared with a hat, sunscreen, hydration, snacks, a power bank, and a pair of takkies!

Donate Materials

We are always looking for in-kind donations of materials, raw produce, and equipment. Manguzi has a landfill site and that is it — so we prioritise biodegradable and reusable options wherever possible.

Wetland water provides refill water at the finish line and at the event itself — helping to reduce our footprint on the local environment.

What we typically look for

  • Wood, aluminium, steel for construction (wheelchair course, security barriers, access ramps)
  • Test-and-treat prizes to incentivise health service use on the day
  • Experience or material prizes for race category winners (including vouchers)
  • Raw produce for post-race meal bites, race snacks, and goodie bags
  • Biodegradable or reusable lunch boxes, utensils, cups, and water bottles
  • Hydration: drinks for water stations
  • Inclusive games and equipment for the kids tent (boccia, table tennis, goal ball, basketballs, skittles, parachute games, chess, jenga, etc.)

Every rand helps cover transport, catering, health screening, and prizes for 2,000+ participants.
